Pressure manual

The Wayhouse Field Guide

A practical handrail for high-stress moments: regulate first, reframe what changed, then take one steady next step.

When results break

The 5-minute reset

The goal is not to erase anger or fear. The goal is to respond in a way you can respect later.

  1. Name the break. What outcome did I expect? What changed?
  2. Notice the mode. Am I in Scarcity Mode or Build Mode?
  3. Take inventory. What do I still have within reach?
  4. Raise internal control. Pause, breathe, lower shoulders, slow tone.
  5. Act from love. Protect people, integrity, and the next wise move.

Scarcity vs Build

When external control drops, internal control must rise.

Scarcity Mode

  • Focuses on what is missing.
  • Moves fast, hot, and reactive.
  • Tries to force control back.
  • Often ends in regret.

Build Mode

  • Focuses on what remains usable.
  • Slows down enough to choose.
  • Uses inventory and support.
  • Protects dignity and next steps.

MacGyver inventory

Build with what remains.

1 What is out of reach?

Name it once. Do not build a home there.

2 What is still in reach?

Breath, phone, time, skill, person, place, choice, God, hope.

3 What is the next clean move?

One call, one message, one resource, one safer location, one plan.

Core principles

Keep these close.

  • Victory is leaving without regret.
  • Lost-cause thinking disappears when inventory begins.
  • Autopilot fixes symptoms. Intentionality fixes systems.
  • People are not obstacles.
  • We do not sacrifice character for speed.
  • What is done in love is never wasted.

Help Now

First we sort urgency and action. Then, after the next-step plan is clear, you can add personal info so Wayhouse can help connect the circle.

1 Urgency and safety
Urgent needs
2 Immediate coping and action
Choose a situation path to see the next right steps.
3 After the plan: basic info and network

This part is optional for browsing resources, but it is what lets Wayhouse follow up, create a support room, and build a small network around you.

Build a small support network

Add one safe person or organization. WAYmaker stores this so a coordinator can help connect the circle later.

Private support room

Talk With Your Circle

Enter a room code from an intake. This is not a public chat or social feed. Keep addresses, passwords, and sensitive details out of messages until a trusted helper is verified.

No feeds. No likes. Only opportunity.

Opportunity Board

Approved jobs, apprenticeships, barter roles, and volunteer work will appear here after review.

Client request

Post a Job

Requests save locally first, then submit for admin review. Approved jobs become opportunities.

Trusted Contractors

Future verified contractor profiles will support the mission and can train, hire, or form crews with participants.

No public contractor profiles are published yet. Future contractor profiles should come from verified partner data.
